Richmond AWANA Conference 2005
Last Saturday Dad and I went to help out at the Richmond AWANA Conference. Mom woke me up at six-thirty to get a wake-up-shower and to get dressed and ready. Soon Dad and I were out the door. First we stopped at church to see if we had a video my Dad was going to show at the Conference because Mr. R forgot it. Luckily we had it. Then we stopped at Doughnut Connection for fifteen dozen doughnuts for breakfast for a hundred some peoples at Conference that morning. We then rode a few minutes to the church where the Conference was being held. We went in and delivered our doughnuts into the Gym where they were supposed to be. I then met up with Bonnie and her sister. We held the door as people were coming in. Then Bonnie got bored so she went up the hill where the road was and got a nice orange and yellow vest so that people would come over so she could explain to park. Bonnie got bored again to she went up to the main church and put the vest on a chair. I didn't want the vest to get lost so I put it on and wore it the whole day. Both Bonnie and I were tired so we went into one of the Nursery rooms to sit for a while. We talked a little bit. We got bored again so we walked around a while and ended up guarding Scherer Hall because they were having the Rorheim Institute teaching in there and peoples were barging in to get to a different way to the other side. The way you are supposed to pronounce Scherer Hall is "Sher Hall". Well the day before I called it "Scher-sher Hall". Which when I said it,it would sound like "Shersher Ha". My way of pronouncing it stuck,I said it that way all day. Some how or another we both got recruited to carry water bottles by this girl named Heather. She was like a drill sergeant thinking she was the boss. It was annoying. Luckily we some how ran away after we finished. We ended up down at the bottom of the hill where Bonnie, her sister and I were able to have a doughnut. Most the time we sat in the sitting room ajacent to Shersher Ha talking and sitting. One of the times when we were down the hill the Chic-Fl-A cow van came with lunch. I thought I could wait until the second group of people came for lunch but all of the teachers were eating so I got my lunch which consisted of a chicken sandwich,Lay's Orginial chips, water and a big chocolate brownie. It was very good. Good thing I did have mine a little early because at teh end there was no more chicken sandwiches left!!! By this time none of the kids had any caffeine left in them so we sat in the shade. Heather pretended to slap some of us. Then she threw a bit of water on my back. I told her she better watch her back because she shouldn't be picking on people three times stronger and bigger than she is. I think she thinks she is some kind of girl who can get away with anything. She was joking around with a guy who is a police man who goes to their church but he was watching the traffic and stuff and she pretended to slap him or some thing like that. I wouldn't have done that,at least I respect authority. So anyway, I did more hanging out. Bonnie went home early because her back was hurting bad (She has back problems). I didn't do much afterward except for help my Dad rearrange the rooms to what they used to be. We had to leave early because my Dad had to work that night. We went to Dairy Queen for a Blizzard and some Gas for the car. Then we went home.
